Buddhism is a religion based on the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama, who lived during the fifth century BCE in ancient India, in what is now Nepal and northeastern region of India. He came to be called "the Buddha". The word Buddha mean "awakened one", in English it was said to be enlightened.
After he experienced a profound realization of the nature of life, death and existence. He taught people that awakening comes through one's own direct experience but not through beliefs.
The essence of the meaning of Buddhism is captured in a single term that means the practicing and teachings of a 2500 year old living transmission and describes the goal that every Buddhist is striving for. This term is called enlightenment where mind naturally manifests fearlessness, joy and active compassion while remaining effortless and spontaneous in whatever happens.
Our centre (Marpa Kagyu Dharma Society - Singapore) that spread the teachings of the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism is directed by Venerable Lodreu Rabsel Rinpoche.
~~phrases by Buddha~~
"All things have the nature of mind, mind is the chief and takes the lead.
If the mind is clear, whatever you do or say will bring happiness that will follow you like your shadow.
If the mind is polluted, whatever you do or say leads to sufferings which will follow you, as a cart trails a horse."
"诸法映心性   自心为上首
若心地清明   言行皆歡喜
如影随己身"
" 诸法映心性  自心为上首
心地若不净  事事皆烦脑
如车随马驶"
