Feb 18th 2011 has been the wishes for many Karma Kagyud dharma friends to visit Hong Kong for His Holiness 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje 2011 Hong Kong Dharma Tour. The one week event was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition centre. It was a great pleasure for some of us from Marpa Kagyu Dharma Society joining this auspicious event with hong kong dharma friends and also friends around the world.

The objective of this event is to benefit all buddhist practitioners and disciples, and also extend to the broader benefits of a harmonious society for hong kong at large (excerpt from karmapa.org)

The event started off with His Holiness giving initiation and empowerment of Chenrezig and Zambhala and followed by the teaching of Chenrezig practice. The topic on "What is Buddhism" was discussed at the dharma talk session. His Holiness explained that Buddhism is not really a religion nor a philosophy, it is more a way of life... Wisdom and Compassion are the two most important qualities of buddhism teaching.
